TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE

Technical Notes & FAQ

Clear principles, prerequisites and operating limits help determine whether a process is suitable before quotation.

01 / KNOWLEDGE

Why is SWRO pressure higher than conventional RO?

Seawater has much higher osmotic pressure. Net driving pressure must account for salinity, temperature, recovery and membrane arrangement.

02 / KNOWLEDGE

Is higher recovery always better?

Higher recovery raises concentrate salinity and scaling risk. A safe target balances chemistry, pretreatment, antiscalant design and brine disposal.

03 / KNOWLEDGE

Where is corrosion control most critical?

High-pressure pumps, connectors, valves and piping continuously contact chloride-rich water. Low- and high-pressure sides cannot simply share one material standard.

04 / KNOWLEDGE

Why condition the product water?

SWRO permeate has low mineral content and alkalinity. Potable use may require stabilization and disinfection; high-purity use may need second-pass RO or EDI.

Engineering boundary: Pressure, recovery, energy and product quality are confirmed from ionic analysis, temperature and membrane projection.
